MYP Personal Project Exhibition

The MYP Personal Project (PP) is a culminating experience that invites students to explore a personal passion, develop independent research skills, and create a meaningful product. It is an important milestone in the IB Middle Years Programme, encouraging students to take ownership of their learning while strengthening critical thinking, creativity, and time management. This year’s exhibition brought these ideas to life through an engaging interview-style format, where students shared their learning journeys and presented their final products to the school community. The range of projects reflected both creativity and strong personal connection. Alisa R explored cultural symbolism through a beautifully written book about birds, while Alisa X transformed philosophical ideas from Sophie’s World into a striking piece of multimodal art. Joseph Y and Allen Y connected their work to family businesses by designing a non-alcoholic wine label and producing pear juice. Ozge applied chemistry to create personalized scents, and Serena composed a live-looped music track focused on anxiety and stress. Kevin W. explored identity through bilingual essays, and Amy, despite joining midway, created a thoughtful beginner’s guide to stargazing. The exhibition highlighted not only the quality of the final products, but also the learning process behind them. Students reflected on challenges such as managing time effectively and overcoming procrastination, developing skills that will support them well beyond the classroom. The PP reflects the IB approach to learning, where inquiry, reflection, and real-world application come together to develop independent and self-directed learners.
