QAIS Grade 5 students embarked on a four-day trip to Linyi and Yishui, filled with adventure and growth. They visited a solar farm, cleaned panels, and explored a limestone cave by boat. In Xiqiangyu village, they practiced pyrography, made tofu and jianbing, interviewed villagers, and experienced tea farming.
The highlight was hiking Mengshan Mountain. Despite nerves, every student completed the climb with determination, celebrating at the top before enjoying rides and orienteering. On the final day, they learned about water filtration and visited a hydropower station.
HEAR FROM OUR STUDENTS
“I was very homesick, but I learned how to get through it”
“It was tiring, but overall it was great! It was a new experience for me – I had never stayed in a hotel without my parents before and I learned that I could take care of myself. I saw a lot more of the world around me – the hills, nature, and all the bus rides. It really made me appreciate what was out there.”
“Wonderful! Perfect!”
“I’m happy that I faced my biggest fear – the water slide!”
“The hike on Mengshan mountain was very exciting… but tiring! We had to take a lot of breaks going up and down the stairs, and finally we made it!”
“If you believe in yourself, you can be independent in any way. You just have to believe in yourself!”
