Qingdao Amerasia International School proudly celebrated the Grand Opening of “The Living Room;” our new eco-classroom designed as a hub for hands-on science exploration.  

The event was a wonderful success, bringing together parents, students and guests for an inspiring afternoon. After the official unveiling, families enjoyed a guided tour of the innovative space, followed by hands-on science faster classes led by our DP Science students.  

Experiments in the Chemistry Lab included making perfumes, distillation, titration, and creating small chemical explosions; in the Eco Classroom an aquaponics garden demonstration, microscopy, and analysis of cellular respiration; in the Physics Lab demonstrations of static electricity using a Van de Graaff generator, along with soundwave and sound reproduction activities.  

The Living Room is already proving to be a dynamic space for inquiry, discovery, and sustainability education, vertically aligning science in our PYP, MYP, and DP programs through meaningful learning experiences.
