QAIS GOES THE DISTANCE
The new term has kicked-off with renewed energy from teachers, students and parents, as QAIS enters week 9 of distance learning. Embracing diverse needs and adapting in a time of uncertainty, teachers have provided great virtual ‘live classes’, restructured schedules and infused collaboration, mindfulness, and community into their classes and assignments. Through this challenging time, the entire community is able to come together with open-mindedness, grit and kindness as we attempt to analyze, synthesize, and gain a deeper understanding of this unique period in world history as we are living through it.
TODDLER & EARLY CHILDHOOD
Our youngest members of the QAIS community are learning daily with assistance from teachers and parents. This term will see more robust learning content with live lesson content, detailed schedules to assist with planning and even live ‘circle time’. These interactive classes have been a highlight with teachers being delighted to see their much-loved students having lots of fun reconnecting with family and friends.
PRIMARY YEARS PROGRAMME
Grade 1 to 5 focuses on fostering connections to promote joy of learning. This term will see more live classes, with collaborative discussion groups for students as well as detailed daily schedules to assist with creating routine for both students and parents.
Open-Mindedness is continually being fostered amongst the independent learners in upper school as students have adapted well and continue to adapt and grow from their lived experience. Classes for the different subjects are done through both a model that is synchronous and asynchronous. Students, aided with all attributes of the IB learner profile, are equipped to achieve academic goals while practising self-care and enjoying a balanced lifestyle.
