The event unfolded with the traditional flag ceremony, followed by our youngest members’ opening recital: “We live in different places, from all around the world, we speak in many different ways – though some things might be different, we’re children just the same, and we all like to sing and play.” A full community performance of “Higher Love” was orchestrated by the Arts Department, weaving together Pakistani traditional dances and a symphony of Indian Sitar and Japanese Taiko Drums. Each note and movement seemed to echo a universal truth, as voices sang: “There must be higher love, down in the heart or hidden in the stars above. Without it, life is wasted time.” The performance tapestry continued, featuring the powerful beats of African drums, the grace of Kung Fu dancing, the rhythms of K-Pop, the innovative movements of robotics, Zumba, and the heartfelt strains of country music. A poignant rendition of Fairuz’s song for Beirut stirred emotions, painting a longing for the city’s past beauty before the shadows of war. Excitement reached new heights during the global football challenge, as staff, students, and parents came together on the field, their competitive spirit united by camaraderie and mutual respect.
