MYP1 Chinese Language students embarked on a rich and meaningful learning journey exploring The Power of Stories. This inquiry invited students to ask a powerful question: What makes a good story? From there, they moved thoughtfully from analysis to creation, deepening both their understanding and their voice as young storytellers.
During their investigation, students explored the essential elements of narrative writing, including character, plot, setting, theme, and style.
Students applied what they had learned through a series of formative writing tasks and collaborative projects. Through a classroom drama experience, groups adapted literary texts such as The Chameleon and The Will and The Dog for performance. Students worked together to rewrite scripts, shape dialogue, and design movement, experiencing firsthand the emotional depth, tension, and complexity of the characters they had studied.
