Montessori Culture Curriculum
Qingdao Amerasia International School welcomed parents of Toddler to Grade 2 students into an immersive experience exploring the Montessori Culture Curriculum. Designed as a hands-on session, the experience offered families a meaningful window into how children at Amerasia come to understand the world, their place within it, and their responsibility toward one another and the planet.
Montessori Culture is an integrated curriculum that weaves together geography, history, science, biology, and the arts, inviting children to explore both the natural and human worlds with curiosity and respect. During the session, parents experienced firsthand how this curriculum is carefully sequenced and intentionally designed to nurture a child’s sense of wonder while laying strong academic foundations.
At its heart, Montessori Culture seeks to respond to the deepest and most universal questions children ask:
Where did I come from?
How does the world work?
How do we live together on this planet?
What makes the Amerasia Montessori Culture program unique is its intentional balance of global perspective and local context. Rooted in authentic Montessori philosophy, the curriculum honors the child as a capable, curious learner while encouraging respect for diversity, community, and the environment.
Equally important is the way Culture learning supports the development of the whole child. At Amerasia, Montessori Culture is closely connected to social-emotional learning, peace education, and practical life. Children learn not only about the world, but also how to care for it, how to collaborate, and how to live thoughtfully alongside others.
