Qingdao Amerasia International School’s Montessori and IB PYP Early Childhood classes welcomed parents for a joyful celebration concluding the unit “How We Express Ourselves.” Guided by the central idea that “games help us communicate, connect, and learn about one another” students explored games as a universal language used to discover and express ideas, feelings, culture, and creativity. 

In PreK 1 and 2, students played familiar games that supported taking turns, cooperation, and leadership as older peers guided friends and modeled teamwork. Kindergarten students deepened their learning by exploring games from around the world, discovering how people express joy through movement, song, storytelling, sports, and art. Throughout the celebration, students demonstrated key IB Learner Profile attributes as communicators, caring friends, and principled players, showing kindness, fairness, and responsibility in every interaction, while showcasing creativity, culture, and the power of play.
