Elevate! Amerasia Arts Exhibition
A Celebration of Creativity, Community, and the Power of the Arts
From brushstroke to spotlight, soundscape to sculpture, the Elevate! Amerasia Arts Exhibition brought the entire Qingdao Amerasia International School community together in a dynamic showcase of student creativity. Held at the Jinshi Gallery, this full-school event featured over 700 artworks from Early Childhood through Upper School—ranging from 2D and 3D pieces to immersive, multi-sensory 4D experiences that delighted not only the eyes, but the ears and noses as well.
Curated by Upper School Art Teacher Meishan Hutchison and Lower School Art Teacher Hanna Siankevich, the exhibition was a true community effort. Viola (DP1) also supported the setup as part of her preparation for next year’s IBDP Visual Arts Exhibition, gaining valuable experience curating in a professional setting. Seeing their work displayed in a real gallery gave students across all age groups a deep sense of pride, perspective, and connection to their creative journeys.
Each piece on display reflected students’ growth, technical skill, and imaginative exploration—from abstract works to performance art. The grand opening was a festive occasion, featuring performances by the upper school Chamber Ensemble, the QAIS Choir, and Theater students, who presented mask work and excerpts from The Witches and Macbeth as performance art. Guest artists Zhang Baibo and Ren Guangrui, along with Baishan Education Group founder, Baishan Zhang, and Jinshi Gallery’s President, Mr. Zhuchang Liu and Director Ms. Yuxin Li, Ms. Xia Xia, Vice President of the iFoundation joined the celebration, helping connect students to the broader art world.
The celebration extended beyond the gallery walls. The Qingdao community was invited to participate in a series of hands-on events: a parent-child art workshop, an adult art class, and a lively evening of wine, bites, and a DJ set—bringing people together to engage with art in fresh and joyful ways. At its core, Elevate! was more than an exhibition—it was an invitation to pause, reflect, and celebrate the human spirit through art.
美亚艺术周 — 昇腾
一场凝聚社区与创意的盛典，见证艺术的无限力量！
从画笔到投影灯，从声景到雕塑，“昇腾”美亚艺术展汇聚了整个美亚社区，展现了学生们丰富的创意与艺术表达。本次全校性展览在金石博物馆盛大举行，呈现了从幼儿园到DP2学生创作的700余件艺术作品，形式涵盖二维、三维及多感官沉浸式四维体验，为观众带来视觉、听觉与嗅觉的多重享受。
此次展览由中学部艺术教师 Meishan Hutchison 与小学部艺术教师 Hanna Siankevich 联合策划，凝聚了整个社区的心血与创意。DP1学生 Viola 也参与了展览布置，在过程中获得了专业而宝贵的布展经验，为明年的IBDP视觉艺术展做好充分准备。看到自己的作品在专业画廊中展出，所有学生都倍感自豪，并在这一过程中更加深入地理解了自己的创作历程。
无论是抽象绘画，还是现场表演，每一种艺术形式都映照出学生们的成长、技能积累以及对想象力的勇敢探索。展览开幕式充满节日般的喜悦氛围：中学部乐团、美亚合唱团，以及戏剧社的学生带来了面具作品和《女巫》、《麦克白》选段等精彩演出。特邀艺术家张白波、任光锐，白珊教育集团董事长张白珊、金石博物馆董事长刘柱昌和馆长李雨欣，以及爱基金副会长夏霞也亲临现场，为学生们打开通往更广阔艺术世界的大门。
而艺术展的精彩远不止于此。美亚还面向整个青岛社区开放了亲子艺术工坊、成人色彩创作坊，以及融合美酒、美食与DJ音乐的SPALSH酒会活动。“昇腾”不仅是一场展览，更是一场邀请——一场通过艺术让人停下脚步、反思生活、赞颂人类精神的深刻对话。
도약! 아메라시아 아트 전시회
창의성, 공동체, 예술의 힘을 기념하며
붓질에서 조명, 사운드스케이프에서 조각에 이르기까지, ‘도약! 아메라시아 아트 전시회’는 칭다오 아메라시아 국제학교 전체 커뮤니티가 함께한 역동적인 학생 창의성의 향연이었습니다. 진시(Jinshi) 갤러리에서 열린 이번 전교 전시회에는 유아부부터 중고등부까지 총 700여점이 넘는 작품이 전시되었으며, 2D와 3D 작품부터 오감을 자극하는 몰입형 4D 작품까지 다양한 형식의 작품들이 관람객의 시각뿐 아니라 청각과 후각까지 사로잡았습니다.
이번 전시회는 중고등부 미술 교사인 Meishan Hutchison 선생님과 초등부 미술 교사인 Hanna Siankevich 선생님이 공동 기획했으며, DP1 Viola 학생도 내년 IBDP 시각 예술 전시회를 준비하며 전문적인 큐레이터 실무를 직접 경험하는 뜻깊은 시간을 가졌습니다. 갤러리라는 실제 전시 공간에서 자신의 작품이 소개되는 경험은 모든 학년의 학생들에게 깊은 자부심과 새로운 관점을, 창의적인 여정에 대한 유대감을 심어주었습니다.
추상 작품부터 퍼포먼스 아트까지, 전시된 작품 하나하나에는 학생들의 성장, 기술적 역량, 그리고 상상력이 깃들어 있었습니다. 성대한 개막식에서는 MYP 챔버 앙상블, QAIS 합창단과 연극부 학생들의 가면극과 퍼포먼스 아트 형식의 더 위치스(The Witches)와 맥베스 공연도 함께 펼쳐졌습니다. 게스트 아티스트인 Zhang Baibo, Ren Guangrui, 바이샨교육그룹 설립자 Baishan Zhang 및 진시 갤러리 대표 Mr. Zhuchang Liu와 디렉터 Ms. Yuxin Li, i재단(iFoundation) 부대표 Ms. Xia Xia가 축하 행사에 함께하여 학생들이 더 넓은 예술계와 연결될 수 있는 계기도 마련되었습니다.
이번 축제는 갤러리월 밖에서도 이어졌습니다. 칭다오 지역 주민들도 참여 가능한 다양한 체험 행사인 학부모-자녀 아트 워크숍, 성인 대상 미술 수업, 그리고 와인과 다과, DJ 음악이 어우러진 즐거운 저녁 행사가 열리며 예술을 보다 새롭고 즐거운 방식으로 나누는 장이 마련되었습니다. 도약! 은 단순한 전시를 넘어 예술을 통해 인간 정신을 기념하고 돌아보는 의미있는 초대였습니다.
