The Amerasia community gathered for the annual Summer Breeze Concert, the culminating event of the year featuring performances by our upper school Band, Choir, and Strings students.
The concert reflected the strength of the QAIS Music Department and the values of an IB education in action. Through performances spanning classical music, jazz, contemporary songs, and multilingual vocal pieces, students demonstrated creativity, collaboration, communication, and confidence.
The students from the Dream Lab elective showcased their projects as well. This elective is a practical and creative design course that encourages students to explore their own ideas and transform them into reality through digital media and artistic expression. Students developed original animations using Wick Editor, combining hand-drawn animation techniques, digital images, music, and video editing tools. Students were given the freedom to create projects in their own unique style while exploring themes connected to art, music, and creativity. Students selected meaningful quotes to inspire their work, including reflections from philosophers and musicians such as Friedrich Nietzsche, Bob Marley and the like.
Performing in multiple languages and styles, students demonstrated intercultural understanding and the ability of music to bring people together across cultures and experiences!
