During the Miao Hui Celebration on February 12, DP CAS students organized a fundraising stall to support Hopeful Hearts, a Guangzhou-based non-profit organization that raises funds to provide lifesaving heart surgeries for children from low-income families. 

Students from several year levels contributed creatively to the initiative. Viola (DP 2), Jim (DP 1), Amy (MYP 5), and Wendy (MYP 1) designed and sold Valentine’s Day cards, alongside cookies and candy. With the support of Kate, Charlotte, Ian, Yuna, Karen, Tudor, and Peter, the group worked together to promote the stall and engage with members of the school community. 

Through their teamwork and enthusiasm, the students raised 4000 RMB. The activity highlighted how service, collaboration, and creativity can come together to support a meaningful cause.

This experience reflects the IB emphasis on service learning, where students apply empathy, initiative, and collaboration to make a positive impact within their communities.
