Design Technology and Physics students visited Honrock, a Qingdao-based transportation technology company. The visit reflects Amerasia’s commitment to providing authentic, real-world learning experiences aligned with the IB MYP and IB Diploma Programme.
During the visit, IBDP Design Technology students explored industrial design processes, research and development, and manufacturing practices within a professional engineering environment. MYP and DP Physics students examined noise-cancelling technology used in rail and automotive applications, directly supporting their current unit on wave interference and demonstrating how destructive interference is applied in real engineering solutions.
Honrock’s work, which integrates engineering design, advanced algorithms, and manufacturing, provided students with a meaningful context to connect classroom learning with real-world innovation.
Beyond this visit, Honrock has been an instrumental partner to Amerasia, offering meaningful financial contributions and internship opportunities for students in Grades 9–12. Their leader, Mr. Qin Sigang, has also been a strong supporter of Qingdao International Baccalaureate Dads Organization (QIBD), helping to foster community and professional networking among fathers.
