Montessori in Action: Celebrating a Year of Growth in Lavender Cottage, Plum Blossom Cottage, and Lotus Cottage

As the 2024-2025 academic year draws to a close, early childhood classes Lavender Cottage, Plum Blossom Cottage, and Lotus Cottage were excited to host a Montessori-inspired Unit Celebration. This special event highlighted the incredible growth and development of our Early Childhood friends across five Montessori curriculum areas: Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics, and Cultural Studies. 

This celebration served as a window into the Montessori classroom for parents, and saw children leading Montessori presentations, teaching their parents various classroom and practical life skills and leading games and activities. From hands-on learning experiences to moments of quiet concentration, families experienced firsthand how Montessori principles guide and support their child’s holistic development. 

Each academic year at Amerasia commences with The Montessori Journey, an immersive event that invites parents to step into the mindset of a child, explore the environment, and engage with the materials just as their children do. By ending this amazing school year with a Montessori Unit Celebration, teachers reconnected with families, encouraged reflection on the year’s growth, revisited Montessori philosophy and practice and deepened the bond between home and school.
