Amerasia’s beloved Director, Dr. Chris Vicari, has been honored with the inaugural Tom Ulmet Leadership Award, presented by the ACAMIS Board of Directors at the Spring Leadership Conference in Xi’an. This prestigious award recognizes a leader whose vision, resilience, and deep integrity have transformed not just a school—but a community.
For over 14 years, Dr. Vicari has powerfully reshaped international education in China. Under his leadership, QAIS became Asia’s first AMS-accredited Montessori school and Shandong Province’s first IB World School, now proudly standing as the only IB Continuum School in the region. But beyond the accolades, his legacy lies in the lives he’s changed.
Dr. Vicari’s philosophy of “Vision + Action = Creation” is not just a mantra—it’s lived. He has walked with students who struggled and reminded them of their worth, often sitting side-by-side in quiet conversations that changed their direction. He supported faculty through loss and hardship, with empathy and encouragement that uplifted our entire team. And during the challenges of COVID, when many felt disconnected and uncertain, Dr. Vicari created stability, structure, and hope—ensuring learning never stopped, and no one felt alone.
His original “Amerasia Lotus 5” framework brings together Montessori Peace Education and Restorative Justice—guiding our school culture toward compassion over punishment and growth over fear. Whether planting trees with EC students, mentoring seniors in their university journeys, or encouraging a teacher to pursue a long-delayed dream, Dr. Vicari lives the values he teaches.
Through his leadership, Dr. Vicari has united students, parents, and teachers from over 50 nations, building a diverse, inclusive, and vibrant community at QAIS. 비카리 박사는 지난 14년간 중국 내 국제 교육의 판도를 바꾸어 왔습니다. 그의 지도 아래, QAIS는 아시아 최초로 AMS 몬테소리 인증을 받은 학교이자 산둥성 최초의 IB 월드스쿨로 자리매김했으며, 현재는 지역 내 유일한 IB 컨티뉴엄(Continuum) 학교로 우뚝 섰습니다. 그러나 그가 남긴 진정한 유산은 바로 그가 변화시킨 삶에 있습니다.
