Grade 5 WWW
Grade 5 students recently spent four days and four nights on a Week Without Walls (WWW) excursion in Linyi and Yishui, focusing on the UN Sustainable Development Goals and conducting research for their upcoming PYP Exhibition.
The itinerary included a wide range of experiential learning activities:
Hydropower Station exploration
Underground Grand Canyon adventure
Butterfly Valley service activity
Meng Mountain hike and an orienteering challenge
Solar Farm visit, including panel cleaning
One of the most engaging activities for the students was cleaning the solar panels. The task was hands-on, purposeful, and offered a tangible way for students to contribute to sustainability in a simple yet impactful manner.
Ms. Aly Oblefias, Grade 5 Lead Teacher, reflected: “One of the most meaningful parts of the trip was the Service Learning. Students planted trees and helped repair pathways. This experience became the heart of the trip as it brought out the best in everyone—teamwork, care, collaboration, and a shared sense of purpose. Even when tired, they supported and encouraged each other, showing true character and resilience. Overall, Week Without Walls was not just a trip—it was a journey of growth, connection, and unforgettable memories.”
五年级无墙周旅行
五年级学生近期前往临沂和沂水完成了他们为期四天四晚的无墙周活动。本次旅行围绕联合国可持续发展目标展开学习，为即将到来的PYP毕业展做好研究准备。
旅行行程丰富多彩，包括：
探索水电站
地下大峡谷探险
蝴蝶谷服务活动
蒙山徒步及定向越野挑战
参观太阳能农场并清洁太阳能板
其中，清洁太阳能板活动尤为吸引学生。这项任务不仅动手实践性强，还让孩子们以一种简单而有意义的方式为可持续发展贡献力量。
五年级主班老师Aly Oblefias表示： “服务学习是此次旅行的亮点。学生们参与植树和步道修复，充分展现团队合作、关爱、协作和共同目标意识。即使疲惫，他们依然互相支持鼓励，彰显了坚韧不拔的品格。总而言之，‘无墙周’不仅是一次旅行，更是一段充满成长、联结与难忘回忆的旅程。”
5학년 벽 없는 주간(WWW)
5학년 학생들은 최근 린이(Linyi)와 이수이(Yishui)에서 4박 5일간의 벽 없는 주간(WWW) 여행을 다녀왔습니다. 이번 여행은 UN 지속 가능 개발 목표(SDGs)에 기반하여 앞으로 있을 PYP전시회를 위한 탐구 활동의 일환으로 진행되었습니다.
여행 중 학생들은 다음과 같은 체험 중심활동에 참여했습니다:
태양광 발전소 방문 및 패널 청소
수력 발전소 탐험
지하 그랜드 캐니언 탐사
나비 계곡 봉사 활동
멍산 등반 및 오리엔티어링 챌린지
학생들이 가장 몰입했던 활동 중 하나는 태양광 패널 청소였습니다. 실질적인 행동을 통해 지속가능성에 기여하는 체험으로, 단순하면서도 의미 있는 시간이었습니다.
5학년 담임 교사 Ms. Aly Oblefias는 다음과 같이 전했습니다: “이번 여행에서 가장 인상 깊었던 부분은 바로 ‘봉사 학습’이었습니다. 아이들은 나무를 심고 길을 보수하며 서로 협력했습니다. 이 시간은 모두에게 협동, 배려, 공동 목표라는 가치를 심어 주었어요. 피곤한 순간에도 서로를 격려하고 지지하는 모습에서 진정한 성장과 회복력을 느낄 수 있었습니다. 전체적으로 이번 WWW는 단순한 여행이 아닌 성장, 연결 그리고 잊을 수 없는 기억이 가득한 특별한 여정이었습니다.”
